Table Tennis Japanese Win At Invercargill

Miss Joyce Williamson was narrowly beaten 21-23, 18-21, by the visiting Japanese table tennis player. Miss Kazuko Yamaizumi. in a thrilling game at .Invercargill last night. Miss Williamson led 21-20 in the first set, but then muffed a shot and lost the advantage. Miss Yamaizumi also beat Mrs June Magorian 21-5, 21-7. Miss Kmiyo Matsuzakl beat Mrs Magorian 21-5. 21-9 and Miss Williamson 21-16, 21-8. In a doubles game Miss Matsuzakl and J. ,L. Catto beat Miss Yamaizumi and R. W. R. Mercer 23 21, 21-16 For Miss Matsuzakl, the reigning world singles champion.
