ST. ALBANS QUEEN CARNIVAL
Vinner Crowned By Mr Nash The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) efowned Miss Colleen Adam “Queen of St Albans” at the queen crowning ceremony of the ISt Albans inter-branch council of the New Zealand Labour Phrtjr on Saturday night During the fund-raising carnival. Miss Adams was known as ••Princess Savage.” “Princess Fraser” (Miss Heather Norton) and “Princess Nash” (Miss Janice Cowles) were also on stage during the ceremony. Mr W. S. B. Good, president of the St Albans inter-branch council, announced that more than £IW was collected during the carnivaL The positions of the three princesses nave been indicated la the last tew weeks by boards on posts in the front of various houses in the St Albans district Funds have been raised by raffles, film evenings, a talent quest and housie-housie. The Band of the First Canterbury Regiment played music for the ceremony on Saturday evening. Several persons sang and presented other entertainments. The money raised will be used by the St Albans inter-branch council to meet the General Election expenses later this year.
