Canterbury Beats Otago, 1-0 Canterbury beat Otago in the first of the two Ruddiman Cup under 20 Soecar games for the season by 1 seal to 8 at English Park on SaturdW. Otago, holder of the cup for top asMons, had many opportunities to score, but failed when near the <oai because of lack of combination and weak shooting. Canterbury’s forwards also failed to display good combination, but were more determined when near toe goal and tested the visittag goalkeeper with shots from all angles. The only goal of the match was •cored by the Canterbury centre forward, A. Biahop, when he Bent a food shot into the net after receivtog a pass from 3. Killick. The outstanding players for Canterbury were L Hunter, L Laby. and F. Barrett. The most impressive from Otago were B. Hollebon, M. Goodchild, and S. Turner. The referee was Mr L. Totaton.
