RECORD CLAIMED FOR YELLOWTAIL
(New Zealand Press Association) GISBORNE, June 17.
Miss Kura Beale, of Te Puia Springs, who is awaiting confirmation of a world record for a blue marlin, is claiming another New Zealand and world record for a yellowtail kingfish weighing 811 b which she caught at the end of May during a visit to the Bay of Islands.
Miss Beale’s fish was caught on live bait near Piercy Island, off Cape Brett. The fish was 4ft 9in long with a girth of 35in. According to the latest world record list the heaviest yellowtail ca.ught to date weighed 591 b
