Bolt Throws His Clubs Again
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) DENVER (Colorado), June 16. The club-throwing Florida professional, Tommy Bolt, withdrew from the 1960 United States open today. Bolt, who won the 1958 event, enlivened a routine opening 18 holes over the Cherry Hille Country Club course by putting two drives into the water on the 468-yard eighteenth. His club followed the second drive.
Bolt, a native of Texas, has been in trouble over club-throwing for years. Once, the Professional Golf Association put him on probation for ’’ungentlemanly conduct"—a polite phrase for throwing clubs. Mike Souchak, meanwhile, was the early leader with a 31. 37—W and half the field still to come to-
