New Secretary For A.J.C.
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, June 17. Mr Derek Glasgow, formerly of Queensland, was today appointed secretary of the Australian Jockey Club. Mr Glasgow, aged 43, has been with the A.J.C. since 1949 and has been treasurer of the club for the last six years. He will take over his new position on July 1, when the present secretary, Mr W. N. Parry-Oke-den, will retire to take up a new position with the Royal Agricultural Society. Mr Glasgow served in the Middle East as a lieutenant and came back to Australia, where he was appointed major, to take over command of the First Army Regiment in New Guinea.
