Repaired Vulcan Test-Flown
tNew Zealand Press Assotiatiom PALMERSTON NORTH, June 17. The repaired R.A.F. Vulcan bomber was test flown from Ohakea today. The Vulcan was piloted by a New Zealander, Flight-Lieutenant C. Bell. For the last six months the plane has been undergoing extensive repairs at Ohakea where it crash-landed in November after a mishap during the air display marking the opening of Wellington airport. The leader of the R.A.F. team. Squadron Leader D. I. Griffiths, the navigator for the flight, said that the manufacturers who had done the repairs had assured him that the damaged wing was now 50 per cent, stronger than it had been before the accident.
