Compensation Paid For Parrots
The Government has paid full compensation of about £lOOO to the Wellington City Council for 64 parrots destroyed at the Wellington zoo on the instructions of the Health Department when it was found that some of the birds were suffering from psittacosis. The chairman of th' parks and reserves committee (Cr. W. J. Arcus) told the council of the settlement at its meeting last night.
