THREAT TO LEAVE CONFERENCE

Mr O’Shea Finds Fault With Report

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 16.

Mr A. P. O’Shea threatened tonight to walk out of the industrial development conference. Mr O’Shea, a Federated Fanners' delegate to the conference, made the threat when a report of the afternoon’s proceedings of one committee presented by the committee’s rapporteur was submitted.

Mr O’Shea claimed the rapporteur’s report omitted any reference to his speech on the role of government. It also omitted any reference to the views expressed by several other delegates—Professor B. P. Philpott, Mr J. W Rowe and Mr A H Ward.

Mr O’Shea said he would walk out of the conference if ’’this unfair and incomplete report” was not sent back for redrafting. On receiving an offer from the chairman to suggest additions to the report at appropriate stages, however, Mr O’Shea remained in the conference halt
