GOODYEAR TYRE AND RUBBER
Net Profit Down By £332,330 (N.Z Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, June 15. Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Company, Ltd., reports net profit at £566,804 for the year to December 31, 1959- -a fall of £332,330. The 1958 profit of £889.134 had been a recovery of £378,424. The company has paid a dividend of £779,412 on the United States parent-owned ordinary capital. Most of the net proceeds of the dividend, after payment of dividend taxes, “were immediately reinvested in the company,” directors report. Dividend is equal to 62.3 per cent, on previous capital. Previous dividend was £816,262, equal to about 80 per cent., paid for 1954.
Ordinary capital at December 31, 1959, shows an increase of £450,000 to £l.7m, raising issued capital, including the public preference capital of £300,000, to £2m.
