ACCOMMODATION FOR VETERANS
N.Z.R.S.A. Asks For State Subsidy
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 18. The Returned Services’ Association will make representations to the Government urging that it grants a subsidy to enable the Patriotic Fund Board to undertake either the building of further war veterans’ homes or additions to existing homes. In adopting this remit today the Dominion conference of the N.Z.R.S.A. also agreed that furthrer representations be made te the Government and the Patriotic Fund Board for the establishment of a veterans’ home in the
Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay area. There was no veterans’ home within 100 miles of Napier or Hastings or within 250 miles at Gisborne—two of the most prolific recruiting centres In the two world wars—the conference wsS told.
