COMMERCIAL Prices Firm In Active Sharemarket

Prices were again very firm on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Turnover rose above Thursday’s figure, but fell well short of the record total recorded on Wednesday.

New Zealand Motor Bodies rose sharply to sell at 50s 6d, Is 6d up on last week’s price. K.P.N.Z. Drugs also made a good gain to sell at £5 10s. Smaller rises were shown by Standard Insurance, National Mortgage B, Australian Motor Industries, 11. C. Sleigh rights, Reichhold, Waltons, Whitcombe and Tombs, Woolworths and Woolworths (N.Z.).

Ballins Industries and N.Z. Forest Products sold at lower prices.
