“The Press" Special Service DUNEDIN. June 9.

Blooming, Irrepressible and Penstock were three of the best trialists at Wingatui this morning when the final gallops lor the last day of the Dunedin Jockey Club's winter meeting were held in steady rain on waterlogged tracks. The tracks in use were the plough, which carried a fair amount of surface water, and the inside grass, on which there is little grass left. Blooming (J R Dowling) had a length to spare from Irrepressible (L. W. Hare) at the end of half a mile on the plough in 53 3-ssec, the opening furlong in 12 3-ssec. but Irrepressible did not appear to be ridden out.

If these two members of D. P. Wilson’s team fill their engagements they will be well-supported in their respective races, the Tainui and the Empire Handicaps. Cornflake (R. Pledger) and Fire Bar (F Henneberryi were not ridden out over the same ground in 56 4-ssec. the opening furlong in 13 2-ssec

Royaloil (R. J. Skeltoq) and Paper Clip (B.- P Kennedy) were easing up at the- end of five furlongs in Imin 11 2-ssec. after running the first two furlongs in 27sec.
