90 Soldiers Detained
HAVANA, June 9.
About 90 officers and men of the Cuban armed forces have been arrested on charges of counter-revolutionary activities, informed sources said last night, according to the American Associated Press There was no immediate confirmation of the report. . , . ,
The informants gave no date of the arrests, nor any details. Sixteen Cuban Air Force pilots were reported to be detained on June 1 in a round-up of antiCommunist and counter-revolu-tionary suspects. The informants said the latest arrests included both Army and Navy personnel There also were unconfirmed reports from Cienfuegos, in central Cuba, that an Army officer, identified as . Lieutenant Jose Bembire, and five enlisted men had deserted and fled to the Escambray Mountains. The reports said soldiers and civilian militiamen were in pursuit
