PUPILS AT SAME SCHOOL
“Miss Germany” And “Miss Auckland” (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 7. One contender in the recent “Miss New Zealand” contest has lost a chance of renewing a schoolgirl acquaintanceship at the “Miss Universe” Beauty Pageant, to be staged at Miami Beach, Florida, early next month. She is “Mis Auckland,” 19-year-old Marlene Mavis Allan, who was at school with Ingurn Helgard Moeckel. the winner of the “Miss Germany” title. Miss Allan immediately recognised the German winner when her photograph was published in New Zealand papers. Both girls attended Epsom Girls’ Grammar School in Auckland. . “Ingurn was a rather attractive girl, small, and popular with her classmates. But as she was in a lower grade, I didn’t see much of her,” said Miss Allan.
