Valuable Antiques Auctioned
(From Our Own Reporter) NELSON, June 2. The disposal by auction of the main part of the antique and period silver and furniture collection which belonged to Mr Charles Hamilton was completed yesterday before an interested crowd. A walnut sea chest realised £37 and another made of teak £36.
The collection was one of the largest and most valuable auctioned in Nelson for many years Buyers came from Christchurch and Wellington. Included in the wide variety offered were Sheffield and silver plate, pewter, crystal, sporting prints and brassware.
