Every N.Z. Home To Have Moral Re-armament Book
Eighty-eight million copies of a Moral Re-armament manifesto, “Ideology and co-existence,” have been printed in the last seven months in 24 languages. Moral Rearmament this month will send it to every home in New Zealand. The pamphlet says, in brief, that there are two ideologies bidding for the world: (1) Moral Rearmament,” which believes that God’s mind should control the world through human nature that has changed”; (2) Communism, “which believes that man’s mind should control the world through human nature that has been exploited.” One or the other must win. The pamphlet quotes dozens of world leaders who put their faith in Moral Rearmament.
The following are some details of the pamphlet’s distribution so far:— Scandinavia.—Seven x million copies in five Nordic languages have gone to every home from the west coast of Greenland to the Finnish villages on the Russian border. More than 800 articles about the pamphlet appeared in the newspapers in one month. Western Germany.—ln Wuppertal it was sent to 23,000 businessmen and industrialists. Miners of the Ruhr sent it to Federal and State governments. The Cabinet
was so impressed that five ministries issued it to all their officials. Netherlands.—Three million copies printed to supply every home.
Switzerland,—Every one of 1 million homes received it in the occupants' language. Japan.—The first Japaneselanguage copies were received by parliamentarians. The Defence Department sent it to 30,000 officers of the armed forces. India.—Translated into Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, and Telegu and distributed in thousands. Africa.—ln Ghana the Tolon Na, leader of 1,500,000 people, sent it to every member of Parliament. The Olubdan of Ibadan is having it translated and given to all his fellow rulers and Government officials in Nigeria.
Cyprus.—Every home on the island has received a copy in Turkish or Greek. Brazil. Two newspapers printed it across two full pages. United States.—Every senator and congressman has a copy. The International Police Chiefs’ Association has written to 2000 members urging them to distribute the pamphlet in their communities. Great Britain.—Distribution of 15 million copies has been com-, pleted.
Canada.—The Prime Minister (Mr Diefenbaker) gave his support to nation-wide distribution. Western Europe.—Sixty-five million copies are being delivered.
