BIRTH OF A SHIP.—The first keel plate of the Northern Star being lowered into position in the yards of Vickers Armstrong at Walker-on-Tyne recently. The Northern Star, an all-passenger liner, will be launched in June, 1961, and will provide a round-the-world service with her sister ship, the Southern Cross, in 1962.
