Halley’s Comet
Sir,—“Psalmist’s” impression of the comet is similar to mine. The huge, long-tailed light low on the horizon was unforgettable and beyond imagination, as was the accompanying awe-inspiring stillness, which remains in the memory with the visual recorded strangeness of this weird phenomenon. It was an uncanny sensation. The visitor appeared petrified in the sky and it was incredible to a child, that it was moving and could vanish.—Yours, etc., IMPARTIAL. May 31, 1960.
