Rifle Shooting JACK SHIELD WON BY SYDENHAM TEAM

The Canterbury Rifle. Association held the annual competition for the Jack Shield at West Melton range on Saturday. Clubs from throughout Canterbury competed. Sydenham No. 1 team, last year’s !winner, was again successful, with ■Malvern second and Waiau No. 1 in third place. Several high scores were put on. Those outstanding out of a possible of 105 were J. Healy, of Timaru, 103; L. Smith, Malvern, 102; R. Chaffey (Waiau), 101; P. Northcote (Waiau), 101; D. Porter (Ashburton), 101. C. Thom and J.
