Nil Desperandum
Golf is always a difficult game, but sometimes it is more difficult than usual. J. Pickering's opponent in a knock-out competition at Culverden a few days ago must have found it very trying indeed At the seventh hole (264 yards) Pickering holed his tee shot. But Us opponent had to give Um a stroke there. The hole-in-one was the first since the club reopened after the war.
