DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS. Applications for positions of Electrical Technicians with the Dunedin City Council’s Electricity Department will be received up to 5 pm. on FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 1960, by the City Electrical Engineer, P.O. Box 513, Dunedin. Each position calls for a Registered Electrician, with preference for a man experienced in the installation and commissioning of switchgear and transformers in E.H.T. substations, maintenance of substation equipment, installation and testing of protection equipment. Applicants should be in the 25 to 45 age group, and preference will be given to a man who has studied for examinations beyond Registration. Electricial Technicians in the Corporation’s employ are graded into three classifications, Grade 11, Grade I and Senior, with salary ranges respectively of £BOO to £855, £865 to £915 and £950 to £lOOO per annum, with two annual automatic increments within each classification. Advancement beyond Grade II or appointment into either of the Grade I or Senior classifications is dependent on qualifications. It may be possible to arrange temporary accommodation on a rental basis. The Corporation operates a superannuation scheme through the National Provident Fund, and if the successful applicant is already a contributor to a scheme through this fund, he may arrange a transfer.
