FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred south-east of the Chatham Islands extends over New Zealand, and a shallow depression lies far to the north of the country. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate north-easterly winds prevailing on the coast, light, variable winds elsewhere; some areas of fog and low cloud in the morning, otherwise fine; cool temperatures. Outlook: little change. West Coast and Nelson.—Light winds and fine, cool weather. Outlook: little change. Marlborough.—Light winds inland, moderate northeasterlies about the Kaikoura coast and light or moderate south-easterlies predominating about the sounds; mainly fine and cool. Outlook: little change.
