OLYMPIC GAMES TEAM
14 Athletes Nominated (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 26. The following 14 athletes have been nominated by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association for the 1960 New Zealand team to the Olympic Games in Rome: — Miss M. Chamberlain, 800 metres; M. G. Halberg, 5000 metres and 10.000 metres; J. Julian, marathon; B. A. Magee, marathon and 10.000 metres; L. R. Mills, shot put and discus: Miss V. Morgan. 100 metres and 200 metres; D. Norris, long jump and hop, step, and jump; R. Puckett, marathon; N. R. Read. 50.000 metres walk; B. Robinson. 200 metres and 400 metres; Miss V. Sloper, shot put and discus: P. G. Snell, 800 metres; Miss J. Thompson, discus; Miss B. E. D. Weigel, long jump. The nominations were released at a meeting of . the association today.
