SALE OF LANDRACE PIGS

Top price of 620gns was paid by P. W. Anderson, Christchurch, for a maiden sow when six Landrace pigs recently imported from Northern Ireland by Mr N. F. Flavell, of Dunedin, were offered for sale at Hamilton today. Considerable interest was taken in the sale and buyers were present from many parts of the country.

Highest price for a boar was 410gns paid by G. W. Vercoe, Ltd., acting for Waratah, Ltd., Hamilton. Average price for the three sows was 463 l-3gns. One sow was passed in at 170gns. The other boar offered brought 330gns, the buyer being Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd., Hawera, acting for B. Williams.
