Control Of Trotting
Sir, —As a visitor to New Zealand interested in trotting I was very disappointed with the Metropolitan Trotting Club’s first day. In Australia all races are sent away promptly. Here it takes some considerable time to get races away. I even not’ced that in one race, the last, a starter’s assistant actually had his hand on the horse’s head and yet the field was sent off. Does this always happen? If so. give me good old Harold Park. —Yours, etc., COME TO AUSSIE. April 5, 1960. [The secretary of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club (Mr D. C. Parker) said the club had no comment to make.]
