Another Chevron-Hilton hotel may .be established later in 8 Christchurch. " An announcement today by Mr ‘ Stanley Korman, founder of the “ Chevron group, said a contract e had been signed with the Hilton
group for the Auckland hotel, and the Christchurch project was “contemplated.” Mr Korman, who returned to Australia today, signed contracts covering the first seven Australian and New Zealand hotels wiyi Mr Conrad Hilton in Honolulu, last night. Mr Korman said, on arrival in Sydney, that the Australian and New Zealand Chevron-Hilton hotels would be staffed by “only the best imported management” He gave no further details of the Auckland project and was not available later for comment. The six Australian hotels will be set up in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra. A site for a ChevronHilton hotel has also been bought in Newcastle.
