Bevan Has Setback

LONDON, April 11.

The deputy leader of the Labour Party, Mr Aneurin Bevan, has not recovered as well as was hoped from his major operation 13 weeks ago. On doctors* orders he had cancelled his two weeks holiday at Brighton, the “Daily Mail” reported. He had spent several days in bed last week. Doctors described last week’s setback as “one of the upsets which can be expected following a major operation of the kind Mr Bevan has had.” They had told him to take it easy at home over Easter and then, if the weatbei* was good enough, he could take a longer holiday. Mr Bevan was in hospital from December 29 to February 14. He had a serious relapse on January 20.
