Mr R. S. Austin, Wellington district manager of the Government Tourist Bureau, has been appointed director of the Tourist and Publicity Department’s travel division. He succeeds Mr N. F. F v Gouffe, who was appointed :New Zealand Travel CommisI nioner in San Francisco. Mr Austin, who is 49, was formerly 1 acting-New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Victoria.—(P-A.) Mr K. A. Gough (chairman) and Mr C. H. Jones (deputychairman) were re-elected by the Linwood High School Board of Governors last evening. Mr E. F. Wilde was welcomed as a representative of the Canterbury Elu* cation Board in place of Mr A Greenwood.
