OLYMPIC TEAM MANAGER

Mr H. D. Poole, Of Wellington Mr H. D. Poole, of Wellington, has been elected manager of the New Zealand yachting team at the Olympic Games in Rome this year. This election was held at a meeting of the New Zealand Yachting Federation last week. Unsuccessful nominations for this position were Messrs P. G. Mander (Christchurch), C. Papps (Christchurch), and G. D. Speight (Auckland). Mr Poole has had ai long career in yachting racing and administration in Wellington. He was mainsheet on the Wellington yacht which won the Saunders Cup in Auckland this season. . The federation also decided that two crews, the Flying Dutchman and the Finn, should be nominated for the Olympic Games, with the Flying Dutchman as first priority. Nominations For Games (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 8. Nominations for the yachting team for the Olympic Games were announced today by the New Zealand Yachting Federation. They are:— Finn class, R. Roberts (Auckland). Flying Dutchman class, R. Watson (skipper) and M. Rae (crew), both of Auckland. Mr H. D. Poole (Wellington) has been nominated as yachting manager. A reserve crewman is also to be nominated.
