It was his third succeaa for the season. Marquess won the second leg, the Linton Handicap, and the combination returned £ll Ils 6d for £l. Bright sunshine favoured the meeting, and the racing was held on a firm but dead track. There was a fair attendance. The totalisator handled £13,773, compared with £14,807 last year, a decrease of £1034. After the Trial Handicap an inquiry was held into the barrier and racing manners of By Chance. It was decided to declare By Chance ineligible to start at any totalisator meeting up to and including June 4. 1960.
