Lion Cub Too Big For Foster Mother
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 10. Lolly, the two-year-old fox terrier who became foster mother to a lion cub at Auckland, has had to give up her role. She could no longer cope with ( the voracious appetite of her ungrateful charge, which has now : transferred its attentions to a spaniel and a bottle. < The lion cub, now two weeks old, is one of a litter of three born ( to a circus lion, Molly. Molly killed two and refused to feed the other. The cub is now i quite playful and appears to be thriving. Skeleton Posted To Police Station.—Bombay police are investigating the mystery of a parcel which recently arrived here from Warsaw, Poland, addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police. It contained a human skeleton wrapped in newspapers and an old gunny bag. No-one knows whose skeleton it is. At first the police thought the parcel contained explosives and called in experts to open it Ballistic experts also were summoned to find out if the skeleton had .any bullet wounds.
