Service Criticised By Blind People
(New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, April 10. *Blind people find that the news coverage given by the New Zealand Broadcasting Service is inadequate for their needs. This was the opinion of the annual conference of the Dominion association of the blind which concluded in Hastings on Saturday. Delegates to .'the conference said blind folk found it difficult to keep abreast of the news as they were deprived of daily newspapers. This was. especially true of New Zealand hews, which received poor coverage by the Broadcasting Service.
The conference was unanimous that every effort should be made to improve the news service ' for blind people. Delegates also said that many other sections of the community must experience the same difficulty as blind people in this respect.
