Singapore’s First State Visitor
SINGAPORE, April 8. Mr Walter Nash, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, paid a formal courtesy call on the Singapore Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, this morning, as his first engagement in today’s official visit to Singapore. Mr Nash arrived from Sydney by air last night as the first State visitor to Singapore since it achieved internal self-govern-ment in the middle of last year. He is in the course of a twomonth world tour, which will take in England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Russia, and the United States.
