Search For Tomb In Alexandria (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) ALEXANDRIA, April 4. On the advice of a Greek waiter, Egyptian Department of Antiquity officials today prepared to dig up parts of the main square of Alexandria in search for the tomb of Alexander the Great. The excavations will be financed by a Greek waiter, 40-year-old Stelio Cotsimos, who reads Greek history as a hobby. American Associated Press reported. Mr Cotsimos said that during research in Alexandria libraries he found an old map indicating the site of the tomb of Alexander, builder of the city. Officials marked four spots In the square, rerouted traffic and prepared to dig. Mr Cotsimos has invested about £5OO in the project and according to the country’s laws will receive 20 per cent of the value of any treasure discovered.
