Australia’s athletic selectors today announced 14 men and 11 women to comprise the trace and field team for the Olympic Games. The selectors picked the distance runers, A. Thomas and M. Lincoln subject to a fitness test by May 31. One surprise was the selection of Miss M. Mathews for the 100 metres and relay only. Miss Mathews will miss the 200 metres. It is possible that the selectors may make further nominations for the marathon and the 20-kilo-metre and 50-kilometre walks after trials to be held later in the year. The team is: Men J.
