N.Z. HYDATIDS COUNCIL
Two New Members Appointed (New Zealand Press Association » WELLINGTON, March 4. Mr 11. C. Gimblett, Invercargill, and Mr T. McCristell, northern Balchitha, have been appointed additional members of the National Hydatids Council, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Skinner) said today. Both appointments will be for three years. Mr Gimblett has been Southland county clerk for 31 years and has been an executive member of the New Zealand Institute of County Clerks since its inception in 1925. Mr McCristell is a vice-presi-dent of Otago Federated Farmers, a past president of the South Otago A. and P. Association, and chairman of a committee representing South Island voluntary hydatids associations. ‘'The appointment of these two new members increases the representation of dog owners and local authorities on the council, which I consider desirable and which meets the express wish of the council,” said Mr Skinner. ‘‘Their experience, particularly in local authority and voluntary group administration of control schemes, will undoubtedly be of material assistance to the council.”
The appointment of Mr ,T. J. Parsons as Federated Farmers’ representative on the council, in place of Mr A. G. Dawson, who had resigned, had also been approved, said Mr Skinner.
