Juvenile pacers in the Southland Stakes, the feature event at the Invercargill Trotting Club’s autumn meeting tomorrow, should provide the highlight of the day. In a season which has been noted for the number of good three-year-olds about, the Southland Stakes has drawn together three winners in Waterspray, Rustic Lad and Chiffon which will be required to give away 12 yards to the promising youngsters Johnny Dean and Flying Look, both of which have been consistently placed. The T.A.R. double will be on the well Handicap in which Latest and Autumn Handicap and the FareReal Dieman appeal most. The weather has been fine, and if there is no overnight break, the track should provide a first-class racing surface. Selections:— Noon.—City Handicap: Va Vite, Mundamus. Storm Light. 12.35 p.m.—Wellesley Handicap: Rest Assured, Our Jimmy, Avon Lad. 1.15 p.m.—Southland Stakes: Johnny Dean, Flying Look, Waterspray. 1.50 p.m.—Georgetown Handicap— First Division: Dillon’s Fashion, Eden Derby. Second Division: Bragger Bill. Annapurna. 2.35 p.m.—Autumn Handicap: Latest Jockles, Va Vite. 3.10 p.m.—lnvercargill Handicap: Luck’s In. Irish Idyll, Lady Nelson. 3.45 pm.—Surrey Handicap: Glenfern, Our Jimmy, Dark Lorene. 4 25 p.m.-—Farewell Handicap: Real Dieman. Dark Orator, No Doubt.
