This total was made up of: State Government vehicle taxes: £42.7 million. Customs duty on motor spirit: £9.2 million. Excise duty on motor spirit: £43.5 million. Customs duty on automotive diesel fuel: £1.5 million. Sales tax on new vehicles and parts: £59.9 million.
