iN ,Z Press Association —cooynatn LONDON, March 2.
The four-year-old High Rank, attracted the top bid of 2100gns at J. O. Botterill’s bloodstock sale at Ascot today, and wil be exported to New Zealand. The colt, by Hill Gail out of the Hyperion mare, Golden Poach, was bought on behalf of Wright, Stephenson and Company, of Wellington. for the Flaxbourne Stud, where he will stand as a stallion.
High Rank, formerly trained by Captain C. F. Elsey, won three flat races worth more than £lOOO and was second in the Dockers' Derby at Manchester. His grand-dam, Clarence, was the dam of the triple classic winner, Sun Chariot. One of the reasons for his purchase was his close relationship to Landau, which was out of Sun Chariot, and has been very successful as a sire in Australia.
