They have made the Territorial Force an effective arm in New Zealand’s defence. Now the men who are in are looking for even more support to make the new training year, commencing on April Ist, the most successful in the history of peace-time volunteer service. To be with a unit on that date, you should Join now! Territorial service offers an excellent way to spend some of your spare time. And it’s a real man’s job. Training, which helps you develop qualities valuable in your civilian career, is for a minimum of 20 days a year for three years. Pay is at rates ranging from 20/9 a day for privates under 21 and 26/2 a day for privates over 21, up to 48/10 a day for Warrant Officers, Class 1, and at the end of three years you will be eligible in addition for a tax-free gratuity of £6O.
