STRUCTURE OF SYNAGOGUE

Foundations Found To Be Sound No deterioration has been found in the structure of the Jewish Synagogue in Gloucester street, according to a spokesman for the congreation who was approached by “The Press” yesterday. An inquiry was made because of information received that the foundations of the building were suspect. The spokesman confirmed that an engineer had inspected the building “and his report showed nothing of the kind.”

Asked why an engineer had been called, the spokesman replied; “In view of the plans of the Horticultural Society to erect a building next door to see that it would not interfere with our building.” The engineer has given an assurance that everything was in good order, he said.
