LAWN TENNIS No Big Surprises In Junior Tournament

Although some seeded players fell, there were no big surprises in the second day of the New Zealand junior tennis championships at Mitchell Park, Lower Hutt, today, but there were indications that I. Crookenden, the talented Waikato boy who performed so well at the recent national tournament in Auckland, might leave with a bag of titles. In his under 19 singles encounter with J. Anderson (Wellington) he was in beautiful form to win 6-3, 6-1, and then showed dash and vigour in a mixed doubles match with his partner, Miss A. Smith.
