BIG OIL PROJECT IN SYDNEY
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 20. Oil company projects in Sydney, costing more than £22m, were announced here last night by the chairman of the Shell group of companies in Australia (Mr J. R. C. Taylor). Mr Taylor said the main project would be construction of a £l7m catalytic cracking plant at outer suburban Clyde, which was to be one of the biggest of its kind in the world. The plant would have a capacity of 150 m gallons yearly and would increase motor spirit output at Clyde to 250 m gallons—equal to a quarter of Australia’s annual consumption. Other projects would be further distribution of facilities, construction of new port facilities, and laying of new pipe lines.
