WARNING OF ATTACKS
U.S. System For Britain? ißec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, January 19 Negotiations have started between Britain and the United States for the building of a ballistic missile early-warning system station, probably in Britain, a Ministry of Defence spokesman said last night. The station, using high-power-ed radar, would give as much warning as possible of an enemy ballistic missile attack. “It is very likely that a station will be built here, but until negotiations have been completed, nothing is known definitely.” the spokesman said. “It is also too early to say anything about cost, post-sharing, or the choice of sites.”
