Students’ 25-Mile Walk After Work

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 13. After completing an 11-hour working day in a Wellington wool store yesterday three Victoria University students took a brisk walk to Paekakariki. They covered the distance of 25 miles lin 4hr 55min, which is an average of just over five miles per hour. They undertook to cover the distance within eight hours for a wager of £3. After the walk they were “a bit sore,” but only one of the walkers was suffering from blisters.
