B. H. South Output Falls Sharply
Ore produced by Broken Hill South, Ltd., fell sharply by 17.2 per cent, during the six months ended December 31. compared with the corresponding period of 1958. Metal recoveries were also lower. Ore treated was 138,110 tons, against 166.760 tons in JulyDecember, 1958.
Lead concentrates fell by 5488 tons to 21,703 tons. They yielded 16.057 tons of lead and 840,3890 z of silver. Zinc concentrates were 10.461 tons lower at 24,858 tons, and contained 12.698 tons of zinc.
Operations were carried out on 111 of the 132 available working days.
