Obituary MR JOHN HILL
A South African War and World War I veteran, Mr John Hill, died in Christchurch this week. He was 86. Mr Hill, who had been a resident of the Rannerdale Home for several years, was bom in County Wicklow, Ireland. He came to New Zealand at an early age.
While serving in France in World War I. Mr Hill was badly wounded.
On his return to New Zealand in the early 19205, Mr Hill turned to trotting, owning the pacer Letitia. He retired 12 years ago
