Hillford, Winner At Thames
“The Press' Special Service TE AWAMUTU, January 12. Hillford, the promising winner of the County Handicap for two-year-olds at Thames on Saturday, is a half-brother by Oman to Lady Cortauld. Lady Cortauld raced in New Zealand as Rise Again. She was bought by Mr M. J. Moodabe and sent to Australia, where she was renamed and has reached top class under the leading Sydney trainer, T. J. Smith. Hillford, a gelding, is owned by his breeder, Mr W. R. Hill., and trained by L. W. Ford at Matamata. Both Mr Moodabe and Smith watched him win at Thames.
