THIEVES RANSACK HOUSE
Jewellery Stolen
Thieves made a thorough search when they broke into the home of Mr Charles Levy, 135 Fendalton road, on Saturday night. Mr Levy returned home with his daughter about 3 a.m. on Sunday, and found that he could not open his front door. He went to the back of the house and found a window wide open. Mr Levy climbed through this window to find that the front door had been snibbed from the inside.
The thieves had jemmied open Mr Levy’s bedroom door and ransacked the room. Drawers had been pulled out, the bed shaken, bags and cases ripped open and every movable object had been shifted. The rest of the house was in a similar condition, and in the washhouse even the contents of the washing machine had been tipped out. As far as Mr Levy knows all that is missing is a quantity of jewellery.
